The SparkFun Vertical USB-C Breakout is an innovative tool designed to seamlessly integrate a vertical USB-C connector into various projects, eliminating the need for intricate soldering of each small SMD pad. The vertical alignment of the USB-C connector is particularly beneficial for panel mounts in projects.

This device offers up to three times the power compared to previous USB breakouts, such as Type-A, micro-B, and mini-B. Furthermore, it addresses the common issue of correctly inserting a USB cable, thanks to its reversible design.

The SparkFun Vertical USB-C Breakout effectively breaks out the USB-C connector’s VBUS, GND, CC1, CC2, D-, and SHLD pins into a 0.1-inch pitch header. It provides a nominal power of up to 1.5A and can extend up to 3A, contingent on the upstream device.

Please note that this component cannot serve as a direct replacement for the USB-C Breakout as it includes an additional pin, resulting in a mismatch in the pin layout.
