The Luxonis OAK-Thermal Dual Sensor Camera is a pioneering device that combines a thermal sensor with a color image sensor. This unique combination allows the camera to merge thermal frames, color frames, and AI models, thereby creating a broad spectrum of applications across various sectors including agriculture, industry, security, and transportation.
In the agricultural sector, the camera aids in the monitoring of crop health, detection of irrigation problems, pest infestations, and livestock health. Within the industrial realm, it is capable of identifying issues such as overheating, leaks, and fires. As a security tool, it can detect intruders, even in the dark, and fires. In the transportation sector, it can identify pedestrians, vehicles, and bicycles, thereby contributing to analytics and traffic optimization.
The OAK-T camera utilizes the OAK-SoM-Pro to achieve a compact overall design. The incorporation of the SoM reduces the scale of the design, facilitating easy mounting or fitting in any location with ease. Furthermore, the design will be made open-source once the hardware design has been verified.
