The Waveshare 5.83″ E-Ink Display HAT for Raspberry Pi, 648×480, Red/Black/White 3-Color is an advanced e-paper display designed for integration with Raspberry Pi and Jetson Nano boards. This display offers a resolution of 648×480 pixels and supports three colors: red, black, and white. It is characterized by its low power consumption and wide viewing angle of over 170 degrees, making it suitable for applications such as price tags, shelf labels, and industrial instruments.

This e-paper display utilizes a passively reflective panel that requires ambient light, eliminating the need for a backlight. It maintains the last displayed content even when powered down, which contributes to its ultra-low power usage, as power is only necessary during refresh cycles. The display is equipped with a standard Raspberry Pi 40PIN GPIO extension header, ensuring compatibility with various controller boards, including Raspberry Pi, Jetson Nano, Arduino, and STM32.

The device operates on a 3.3V/5V power supply and supports both 3-wire and 4-wire SPI communication interfaces. It includes an onboard voltage translator, making it compatible with 3.3V and 5V microcontroller units.
