The Digilent BasicRx USRP Daughterboard (1-250 MHz) is a cost-effective solution designed to provide direct access to the ADC inputs, facilitating the reception of real-mode signals within the frequency range of 1 to 250 MHz. This daughterboard is particularly suitable for applications that utilize an external front end to deliver relatively clean signals within its operable bandwidth. Each RF input is coupled to a single channel of the USRP device’s ADC through wideband transformers, allowing for efficient signal processing.
The signals captured by the ADC are subsequently manipulated within the FPGA, offering the flexibility to process them as either two real-mode signals or a single I-Q pair. It is important to note that the BasicRx does not incorporate a local oscillator or downconverter. However, subsampling methods can be employed to receive higher frequencies, provided that the signal is adequately filtered to prevent aliasing of unwanted signals.
This daughterboard is designed exclusively for receiving signals, with a frequency range spanning from 1 to 250 MHz. It supports a channel count of either two RX IF or one IQ, with a bandwidth capacity of 100 MHz per channel.
