  • 2-Channel AC Solid State Relay Arduino Shield
  • Control Channels using Arduino Pins with Jumpers for Easy Configuration
  • Ensures Safety with Opto-Isolation
  • Reduce Line Noise with Zero-Cross Opto-Triacs (not for light dimming)
  • Optional Triac Snubber PCB Footprint available

The 2-Channel AC Solid State Relay Arduino Shield is designed for applications that require frequent switching or Pulse Width Modulation (PWM) of AC loads. Many MCU applications use electromechanical relays to control AC loads, however, this is not suitable for such applications. This opto-coupled solid state relay offers a reliable solution as it can control two AC loads in an Arduino shield form factor.

It is important to note that this is not a toy; adult supervision is required at all times. The high voltage parts of this circuit are not isolated from earth ground and contain potentially lethal voltages. Therefore, users should never touch any part of the circuit when it is powered on. The full safety warning should be read before using the board.

Depending on the load current and the ambient temperature, a heatsink for the TRIACS (not included) may be necessary. The TRIACS are in fully isolated packages to make heatsinking both simple and safe.
