The Devantech DS2242 – 2 x 16A Ethernet Relay offers a streamlined configuration and setup directly from a web browser. It provides versatile control options via a web page or through tcp/ip control with support for ASCII, Binary, or Modbus protocols. Users can receive email notifications for selected events and opt for AES encryption to ensure secure control in binary tcp/ip mode. The device supports simple relay automation for automatic relay control and enables Peer to Peer control with minimal effort.

Advanced control is facilitated by a 100-step configurable sequencer, and the system can be extended with optional dSX42 modules for control and sensing up to 300 meters away. The module includes up to eight 32-bit counters with capture and reset capabilities, handling 20 counts per second on inputs. Event scheduling allows for timed events on a daily or weekly basis. Remote control is possible through free Android and iPhone applications.

Customization is achievable using the powerful dScript language, allowing users to modify supplied examples or create custom webpages with personalized logos, buttons, and functionalities. The module can function as a tcp server to respond to incoming tcp requests or as a tcp client to send data packets to other devices using custom protocols.

The hardware features include a TTL level serial port, an RS485 port, two relays with up to 16Amp capacity at 24vdc or 250vac, and four inputs that can be used as analogue or digital. Communication is facilitated via USB for development and RJ45 Ethernet for normal access, with power supplied through a 12V DC jack. The dScript editor is compatible with Windows 10 or later, Linux, and macOS.
