The Devantech DS2408 – 8 Relays & 40 Opto Inputs offers a versatile and robust solution for advanced control and automation needs. It features a straightforward configuration and setup process accessible via a web browser, allowing for control through a web page or tcp/ip with options for ASCII, Binary, or Modbus protocols. The device can send email notifications based on selected events and supports optional AES encryption for secure control in binary tcp/ip mode. It also includes relay automation for automatic control and enables Peer to Peer control with minimal effort.
The DS2408 is equipped with a 100-step configurable sequencer for sophisticated control tasks and supports optional dSX42 extension modules for control and sensing up to 300 meters away. It includes up to eight 32-bit counters with capture and reset capabilities, handling up to 10 counts per second on inputs. Event scheduling is available for daily or weekly timed events. Remote control is facilitated through free Android and iPhone applications. For those requiring further customization, the module can be tailored using the powerful dScript language, allowing for the creation of custom web pages, addition of logos, buttons, and functionalities, as well as the implementation of custom tcp servers and clients.
The hardware includes one TTL level serial port and one RS485 port, eight relays capable of handling up to 16Amp at 24VDC or 250VAC, and 40 optically isolated inputs available in either 24DC or 230AC configurations. Communication is supported via USB for development and RJ45 Ethernet for standard access. The device is powered by a 12V DC jack (adaptor sold separately) and features integrated snubbers to suppress switching spikes and relay arcs when inductive loads are used.
