The Devantech DSX42K – dScript Expansion Module is an advanced accessory designed to enhance the functionality of dScript modules by providing additional thermo-couple and relay capabilities. This module is powered and controlled through the RS485 port of the dScript modules, ensuring seamless integration and operation. It features two relays capable of handling up to 16Amp at 24VDC or 250VAC, with screw terminals for Normally Open (N/O), Normally Closed (N/C), and Common contacts. Additionally, it includes two Volt Free Contact (VFC) inputs that can connect directly to switches or relay contacts, and one K-type thermo-couple input with cold junction compensation, allowing for accurate temperature readings of both the probe and the PCB.
The module is powered by a 12V supply from the connected dScript module via a twin pair cable or directly through screw terminals if necessary. It is compatible with various dScript modules, including dS2242, dS378, dS3484, dS2824, dS2832, and dS2408. The module supports cable lengths of up to 300 meters, depending on the quality of the cable used. Configuration is straightforward through the dSx configuration page on the dScript module, and once set up, the relays and inputs function as if they were local to the main module.
