The MakerDisk 32GB microSD Card Preloaded Offline MakeCode & Raspberry Pi OS comes pre-installed with Raspberry Pi OS, primed for immediate use with Raspberry Pi 4 Model B, provided it has the latest bootloader firmware. It is recommended to refrain from formatting the card if it is to be used with the Raspberry Pi board.
This microSD card is equipped with the MakeCode offline editor, which is ready for use upon booting up the Raspberry Pi. This editor is designed to program any micro:bit boards. Upon starting the Raspberry Pi, an icon labeled “microbit” will be visible on the Desktop, which serves as the micro:bit MakeCode editor. This offline editor allows full access to all the features of the MakeCode editor without the need for an internet connection.
In addition, the offline MakeCode editor comes with 18 common extensions pre-installed. These extensions are in the form of a hex file, which can be accessed in the Download directory of the Raspberry Pi OS. The card boasts a capacity of 32 GB and offers a write speed of 21.8 MB/s and a read speed of 1 GB/s.
Please note: It is strongly advised not to format the microSD card if it is intended to be used with the Raspberry Pi board.
