Description

  • Motoron M1T550 Single I2C DC Motor Controller w/ Reverse-Voltage Protection
  • Compact & versatile
  • Daisy-chain capable
  • High current output
  • Advanced protection
  • Easy integration

The Motoron M1T550 Single I2C DC Motor Controller is a sophisticated device designed to manage one bidirectional, brushed DC motor through an I²C interface. Its compact design allows for seamless integration into various systems, and it is capable of being daisy-chained with other Motoron controllers on the same I²C bus for the control of additional motors. The controller is compatible with a broad range of motor supply voltages and is capable of delivering a substantial continuous output current. It comes equipped with header pins that require soldering based on the user’s needs.

This controller is part of a family that includes the M1U550, which operates via a TTL serial (UART) interface. Both models eliminate the need for PWM outputs or timers on a microcontroller, simplifying the control process by requiring only a single I²C or UART interface, even when multiple Motoron units are used.

The Motoron M1T550 boasts a variety of features, including reverse-voltage protection, a logic voltage range suitable for most applications, and configurable motion parameters to tailor the motor performance to specific requirements. It also offers a range of PWM frequencies, a command timeout safety feature, and an automatic error response for enhanced operational reliability. The controller’s diagnostic capabilities are augmented by status and direction indicator LEDs, as well as an error output signal. To facilitate ease of use, there are dedicated libraries available for Arduino and Python platforms, along with a comprehensive user guide. The device’s diminutive size makes it an excellent choice for space-constrained applications.

Please note that the Motoron M1T550 should not be used with a nominal logic voltage of 5V, as it is not recommended for optimal performance.
