The Sherline 2-Axis CNC-Ready Machine Slide (“) is a precision-engineered component designed for integration into CNC systems. Constructed primarily from 6061-T6 aluminum, the slide is finished with a black anodized coating, enhancing its durability and resistance to wear. The incorporation of steel parts with ground dovetails ensures a robust and stable operation, essential for precision machining tasks.

The machine slide features an 8-inch by 2.75-inch table, which can be equipped with either an inch or metric leadscrew, depending on the user’s requirements. These leadscrews are precision rolled from steel, providing reliable and accurate movement. The design includes adjustable backlash for the leadscrew, allowing for fine-tuning to maintain precision over time. Additionally, the dovetailed tables and saddles are equipped with adjustable gibs, which help eliminate play and ensure smooth operation.

Handwheels measuring 1-5/8 inches in diameter are included, with graduations in .001-inch increments for inch slides and .01 mm increments for metric slides, facilitating precise manual adjustments. The slide is CNC-ready, featuring mounts for NEMA 23 stepper motors, which are necessary for automated operation. It is important to note that these slides cannot be operated manually until the stepper motors are installed.
