The Sherline End Mill Holder 1/2″ x 2 is designed to enhance the functionality of milling machines by securely holding end mills in place. This holder screws onto the threaded end of the mill spindle, ensuring that the end mill remains stable during heavy cutting operations. Unlike collets, this holder uses a single 10-32 set screw to prevent the end mill from spinning, providing a more substantial support area.

This end mill holder is particularly advantageous for its ability to accommodate longer or double-ended end mills, as well as special purpose cutters with 3/8″ diameter shanks, such as those used for key slots, dovetails, and corner radii. It serves as an efficient quick-change tool system, allowing for rapid switching between cutters by simply unscrewing one holder and threading on another. This feature is especially beneficial in CNC operations, where pre-mounted holders with end mills maintain consistent tool length, eliminating the need to update tool diameter and length values in CNC programs.

Note: It is recommended to apply a drop of light oil on the threads of the end mill holder before initial use to ensure a smooth fit, as the thread pitch diameter is held to a tight tolerance to minimize runout.
