The Sherline Mill DRO w/ CNC Thrust Collars 8100 (“) is an advanced digital readout system designed to enhance the precision and ease of use for machinists operating mills equipped with stepper motors. This system requires the removal of handwheels to install CNC stepper motor mounts on a Sherline machine. The digital readout system measures handwheel rotation and translates it electronically into table movement, providing a reliable method for cross-checking CNC input against actual axis movement. This feature is particularly beneficial for CNC users who wish to verify the accuracy of their machine’s movements.

Digital readouts have become a staple in modern machining, offering significant convenience by allowing machinists to reset the X, Y, and Z axes to zero with the push of a button. This system provides precise readings to 3-1/2 decimal places in inches or to .01mm in metric, eliminating the need for counting handwheel revolutions or performing complex calculations. The kit includes handwheels with encoders for each axis, a digital readout box with an LCD display, an RPM sensor, a power supply, cables, a stand, and all necessary mounting hardware.
