The Tamiya Swivelbot is an innovative addition to the Educational Construction Series, offering an engaging assembly kit that creates a unique, obstacle-dodging robot. This model is designed to move forward as its front wheels turn, and when encountering obstacles such as walls, the front wheel, and crown gearbox automatically turn to the right, allowing the Swivelbot to change direction seamlessly.

This captivating creation is suitable for all ages, providing an entertaining and educational experience as it navigates its environment. The assembly kit utilizes the same motor (FP030-KN-11160) as found in the Mini Motor Slim Gearbox (2-Speed) Item 70245. The gearbox efficiently supplies power to the front wheel, while the top antenna rotates as the model moves.

Ease of assembly is ensured with a minimal number of screws required (2mm screws x8, 3mm screws x3). The Swivelbot boasts a speed of 2.6 cm/s, or 0.09 km/h, taking approximately 38 seconds to cover a distance of 1 meter. A single AAA battery (not included) is required for operation, and decorative stickers are included to personalize the finished model.
