The Waveshare LC29H Series Dual-Band GPS Module for Raspberry Pi, L1+L5 Positioning (AA) GPS is a sophisticated GNSS expansion board designed to enhance positioning accuracy through dual-band L1+L5 positioning technology. This module is capable of tracking multiple GNSS signals, including GPS, BDS, GLONASS, Galileo, and QZSS, while maintaining low power consumption. It features a built-in low noise amplifier and acoustic surface filter, which contribute to its high sensitivity and robust anti-interference capabilities.

This GPS module supports positioning augmentation systems such as WAAS, EGNOS, MSAS, and GAGAN, which improve positioning performance in various service areas. The EASY technology allows for positioning using stored information, such as ephemeris and almanac data, even when there is no signal, thereby enhancing the time to first fix. The module is ideal for real-time tracking systems and applications in smart farm machinery and shared mobility solutions.

The LC29H Series GPS Module is equipped with a standard Raspberry Pi 40PIN GPIO extension header, making it compatible with Raspberry Pi series boards and Jetson Nano. It supports multi-frequency active interference cancellation to ensure navigation accuracy by suppressing narrowband signal interference. Additionally, the module includes an onboard battery holder for an ML1220 rechargeable cell, which preserves ephemeris information for hot starts, and four LED indicators to display the module’s operating status.
