The Devantech DSX42L – dScript Expansion Module is an advanced accessory designed to enhance the functionality of dScript modules by providing additional low voltage DC inputs and two extra relays. This module is powered and controlled through the RS485 port of the connected dScript module. It features a single RS485 serial port and two relays capable of handling up to 16Amp at 24VDC or 250VAC, with screw terminals for Normally Open (N/O), Normally Closed (N/C), and Common contacts. The module supports four inputs, which can be configured as either digital or analogue (0-5V, 10-bit).

Power can be supplied either from the connected dScript module via a twin pair cable or directly through screw terminals if necessary. The module is compatible with various dScript models, including dS2242, dS378, dS3484, dS2824, dS2832, and dS2408. The cable length for connection can extend up to 300 meters, depending on the quality of the cable used. Configuration is straightforward through the dSx configuration page on the dScript module, allowing the relays and inputs to function as if they were local to the module.
