The Kitronik USB LED Strip w/ Light Sensor is designed for custom enclosures requiring low-power lighting. The integrated sensor enables automatic activation in low ambient light, making it suitable for night lights or desk illumination. A switch allows for continuous lighting by bypassing the sensor. With power requirements under 100 mA, it can be powered by a computer USB port.

The 50mm x 10mm PCB features a mounting hole, five bright LEDs (8000 mCd luminous intensity), a micro-USB power input, a phototransistor, and a three-way switch. The side-mounted slide switch offers On, Off, and Sense positions.

The On and Off positions control the LEDs directly, while the Sense position utilizes the phototransistor to activate the LEDs when the darkness threshold is reached. A clear gap between the phototransistor and other components allows for a barrier in an enclosure design, ensuring LED light does not affect the sensor.
