The Phidgets Capacitive Proximity Sensor – 8mm is designed for the non-contact detection of objects within its range. This sensor is capable of being triggered by a diverse array of materials, including metals, human touch, and water, as well as any object possessing a dielectric constant distinct from air. The sensor’s detection distance is subject to variation based on the shape, thickness, and type of material being detected.

This device features adjustable sensitivity, allowing for precise calibration to suit specific applications.
